Anyone else had this fault? The other day whilst using my N95, the screen went off for no reason. I thought nothing of it, and took the battery out to restart it as the keys had locked.
Now today the same thing happened, but it came back on. But this time the screen had a green tint to it and the phone is VERY sluggish. Now, whenever I press an arrow key on the top keypad (the slide section) the screen flickers/goes green/pink/turns off/jumps around like a TV with bad signal/loses colour.
Obviously it's knackered, or is there a simple way of fixing this? It might just be a loose connection somewhere, but the phone itself is VERY slow.
Sounds like (possibly) the ribbon cable between the screen and the mainboard is loose or damaged. You could try disconnecting and reseating it. That would be my first choice, anyway.
There is at least one video showing how to disassemble the N95 to facilitate this available online.
Yes i had the same problem. I think it was because i played lots of games when i first got mine and i forced the buttons to hard. It used to turn green and roll to the left about 1/4 of the way across then turn off. I took it back and they replaced it. The phone is on a contract.
I had exactly the same problem a few days ago. Got a brand new phone out of it though.
