Unable to format 9300i

2 replies · 4,216 views · Started 19 June 2007

Hello,

My 9300i suddenly stopped working. The cover phone switched itself off but the PDA was working ok and it showed a few error dialogues. After going thru' the Nokia formating guide i tried to format by removing the battery and re-inserting but without success. After that the PDA stopped working too and does not re-boot.

I press Cntrl+Shift+F after removing and inserting the battery when the blue NOKIA logo appears which changes to a blank white screen. I have even tried keeping them pressed for about 5 minutes or so but to no avail.

I have even connected the phone to the charger as the Nokia guide says that a full battery is necessary for the format operation.

I would like to know how long shoud one keep pressed the Cntrl+Shift+F key combination when the NOKIA logo appears.

Please let me know if there is any other method of formatting the phone, via a computer etc.,

-Regards

Hi music20,

Try hitting the keys as soon as the light opens in the internal display keep it pressed until the Nokia logo and until the format prompt is displayed. Also, press the F key last or once you have confirmed that you're already pressing the Shift and Control keys.

Finally make sure to create a backup of your important files including your contacts since. I have tried this method several times and it always works.

Cheers.
