:icon14: Thanks to this forum I got interested in ripping DVD to something I could load and view on my N95. I downloaded a Acala DVD - 3GP program. Problem is, it takes like 2 hrs to convert! Is this normal? On the other hand, while it is a real novelty to do so, I doubt I'd really have a need to rip DVDs to watch - but impressive to say the least!
In other news, I am perhaps one of the few that is presently using my N95 at sea. Yep, using the GPS function to check movement between Guam and Singapore via local sea lanes. It works like a champ out here. Really fun to watch the maps function come on, then position me right in the Pacific Ocean! Wonder if there are nautical maps for use in the 95?
I've only had this phone for a few weeks. I am very impressed with it to say the least. One think is the screen. I don't know how many phones I've had that I could not view in bright sunlight... not so here... great tool, and toy:icon14:
Converting of DVD's is generally related to how good your PC is, the less RAM and/or CPU available the slower it will take.

Avi to 3GP is extermly fast not so sure about DVD to 3gd. Why not use something like slysofts clonedvd mobile it may be faster. Their is a demo available.
I use 'Media Studio for Nokia', takes about an hour to rip and encode and 90 minute film on a Core 2 Duo 2.16Ghz laptop with 4GB RAM.
I can live with that and my dog is glad of the attention while the computer is busy 😊
