i found an n95 a while ago but when i tried my o2 pay as you go in it it said "connection error" when i tried to use it
i heard o2 are sim free fones, so i tried using my sisters vodafone sim in it and my friends orange one and lo and behold it works!!!
anyone any idea why this is?
When you say found I take it you mean somebody had lost it and you were dishonest enough to keep it.
If so, don't expect anyone here to want to help you.
EDIT: of course, I remember your post about finding it in the park. In that case, you don't deserve help, you're as bad as a thief.
erm, excuse me...i put the fone to the back of my drawer and forgot all about it until i just decided to try a different network sim
i particularly abhor your accusation and i think you're talking mince
seeing as it works with different networks then i take it its not been reported lost so its not being missed is it!
although you are right, my cousin lost his fone a few years ago.
actually, im feeling nice/guilty now after your wee speech, suppose i wouldnt like it if it was me. ill hand it in tomorrow!! (even tho i justified myself by telling myself it was some kind of drug dealers!!!)
im actually getting pms now from dodgy soundin people wantin to buy it...hmm, im defo handin it in tomorrow to the local police, god i feel well dodgy now havin these folk offer money for it!!
handed in tomorrow and ill get my day off to a good start by givin myself a nice warm fuzzy feelin!
then if you leave the police your details and make sure you tell them that if nobody claims it in 28 days you,ll have it back, you have a clear mind.
unless the police check imei contact all providers who then notify the real owner
and they get it back
i get it back within 28 days??
ok, ill take it in tomorrow and count the days!
thanks guys

Taking it to the police is the best. Particularly now that you have used the handset with one of your own SIM CARDS. If the original owner reports it lost or stolen, tha handset could now be traced back to your SIM and you could be charged with theft.
