2gb micro sd card seems to work on nokia 5500

for your information

official literature says up to 1Gb but tried a 2Gb and it accepts it, reporting how much is memory is used and how much is left, correctly. Files are viewable for example photos and audio is playable.

Not an extensive test but looks encouraging.

comments?

Brand of micro SD card used is Sandisk, formatted to FAT, presumably this is FAT16 (not FAT32).

Phone: Nokia 5500 Sport contract phone with Vodafone.

By the way I think that there is no technical spec difference between the 5500 sport and 5500 sport music except for the styling and accessories supplied.

tnx for info, i'll have to try this.. if it really works, i'll have to buy a 2GB micro sd and give my 1GB to my Dad.. 😉

I'm using a 2gb card right now, it works perfectly. I installed appz, have music and pics.

My firmware is v3.55 though
