Hi,

I'm still using the firmware version 10.0.018 with product code 0548445 and i brought my N95 in Hong Kong. Im having doubts to if i updated my fireware to either euro 1 plum or 1 sand i'm not goin to able to read chinese characters?! Would that be the case?! please help me out hear i reli wana get tis off my chest!
thanks yall

I have got a Vodafone UK (0547869) unlocked N95 and I had to change it to HK (0534832) to flash to HK 11.* firmaware in order to get Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

In all probability you'll lose the Chinese input support if you get a european firmware, but I guess if you want european language support there's probably not much choice.

I did hear that the SIngaporean firmware supports the most varied languages of all the firmwares, can anyone confirm that or have the list of languages supported?

yes, if you change it to euro firmware u wouldnt be able to read chinese characters.

I've originally bought my N95 from o2, I then changed product code to HK one. I flashed and updated it.

Now this hk firmware I have a choice of 3 languages, english, simplified chinese, traditional chinese.

Even when selected English as the GUI language, I am still able to read chinese characters in webpages or sms. Also I will have T9 english input.

However if i select any of the chinese GUI, I don't have to english T9, I will have chinese input.

Hope this helps.

I suggest that you keep the HK firmware on if you wish to read chinese + english

Use the euro firmware if u want to read or type any other european languages

If you have bought your n95 in HK there's really no need to change the product code, unless your product code is a funny one the wouldn't allow you to flash to the newer firmware.

No idea what the difference between the two HK code, I just chose mine, 0534832, at random and it seems to work OK.
