I have found a third party site to download nokia maps avoiding the boring download option "maploader" from nokia. The data downloaded for each country has a folder named 20001f63. The folder structure for instance:
England-London\20001f3
or
Germany-Berlin\20001f3
Now I wonder should I transfer the descriptions, e.g. England-London, to the "private" folder too or should I interleave the two 20001f63 folders?
Just use Nokia Map loader it does the job and you wouldn't have to wait around to find out what to do with the files.

The latest version of Map Loader is supposed to be much faster.
It certainly seems to be. First time I used it about ten days ago I had to go to bed while it was downloading.
Did it again this morning and it did England, Scotland and Wales in a little over three minutes.
Still had to go to bed though - I have a massively short attention span 😃
May I get the "third party site" ?

Nobody had a look to the "private" folder on his memory card to answer my question?

I made a look to the folder Private\20001f63\ in which the Nokia Maps are.
Boring and in no way helpful.
It consists of 3856 *.cdt files in a lot of diskcache\#\# Subfolders.
for example:
Folder: diskcache\f\9
162089f.cdt 10 K 5/03/07
162189f.cdt 26 K 5/03/07
162289f.cdt 32 K 5/03/07
162389f.cdt 53 K 5/03/07
162489f.cdt 46 K 5/03/07
162589f.cdt 36 K 5/03/07
162689f.cdt 37 K 5/03/07
162789f.cdt 28 K 5/03/07
162889f.cdt 37 K 5/03/07
162989f.cdt 19 K 5/03/07
162a89f.cdt 11 K 5/03/07
162b89f.cdt 7 K 5/03/07
162c89f.cdt 12 K 5/03/07
162d89f.cdt 26 K 5/03/07
162e89f.cdt 15 K 5/03/07
162f89f.cdt 13 K 5/03/07
I wont print here all the other folders because the moderator will get very angry to us and I think this would be correct.
I think thats not very helpful to you. Therefor the others wernt willing to do that.

The second option, "interleave the two...". I believe that the "20001f63" folder is a reference to/for the application "Nokia Maps" (eg. every application that make use of storing data on the memory card has its own "8 char folder" in "Private"😉. The sub-folder structure within the "20001f63\diskcache" are area/geographical references, hence the maps are not divided in countries. Firstlevel in subfolder represents one area/region, subfolders within holds the actual maps for parts of that area/region....
Don't bite me on this, I'm guessing a lot here... 😊

Ive found an actually not so easy way to work with the downloads.
Are you still interested?
