unoffifical test of N95 wifi with other elec toys

I recently had the chance to test a number of my toys at a local wifi connection. I had in my possession:
Nokia N80
Dopod 838 pro
S/E P990I
HP Ipac
Nokia N95

No, on went the test. Given the same connection, time and time again the N95 blew away the competition. I was mainly concerned with speed of down load. Freezing up, and retaining the connection once obtained.

On all three counts the N95 came out on top. Granted that this is nothing more than an unofficial test by me with various electronic toys that belong to me. Im sure there are upgrades and newer examples of the other items such as HP Ipac but for me this was a very conclusive test and is why the N95 rest on my hip.

PS: I also have a S/E 900i that has been a realy good phone.. if it only had wifi! I still slide the sim card in it now and then to carry. Simply one of the best phones I have ever had. Excellent quality, sounds and coverage. Battery life is also phenomenal! Now if only the N95 had some of the 900I traits😉

How did you do a fair benchmark on all devices? What software did you use? How many time did you test them?

You do realise that the Nokia is 802.11g and the others are 802.11g, right? Even a poor performing g would be a bit faster than a top speed b.

I have found the N95's Wifi to be slow for a G product, but very usable. Now, if only there was much decent software available to make use of it!

I use the N95's WiFi a lot. Brilliant feature to include. Saves your pennies too because you can use it instead of your service provider.
