n95 in Canada: Can I upgrade my firmware?

Hi guys -

Got my N95 today in Toronto, woohoo! Through Tigerdirect, as they're not for sale here yet (or ever, I guess).

However, Nokia Software Update doesn't look like it wants to let me update my firmware - it's just telling me that the one I have (10.x.x.x) is the newest. Any way to get around this that anyone might be aware of?

Thanks so much!

You can change the product code with NSS and then update the firmware.

Do a search for NSS or product codes :icon14:

This should bring up some info for you.

Hi there - thanks very much - did some research based on your suggestion (which was very helpful!)

Changed my Product Code to 0534841 (Euro 1) and then ran the NSU utility again, but it still said there were no new updates. I'm wondering if I should be manually flashing it?

Or should I have used a different Product Code?

Thanks for any help you can provide - appreciate it!

you didn't check the "Product Code: [0534841] [X] Enable"
box in the NSS and the update didn't happen.

you can confirm that by running NSS again -
good luck!😊

I agree with seki - something might have went wrong with the product code change. For Euro1 there is an upgrade in NSU 😊

Hi guys - thanks for all the help. It turned out that a firewall issue wasn't allowing NSU to look for updates - good to know that it tells you there are no updates if it can't connect. At any rate; it's resolved now and thanks for all your help!

Will put into my advice list .. glad things worked out ok!😊
