I find it fascinating how different the (lack of) possibilities are to quit applications in the N95. This is what I have found:
Applications that can't be quit by pressing the red button: Web, Radio, Snakes, SRF
Applications that can't be quit by pressing the big blue menu button: Camera
Applications that can't be quit neither by pressing the red button nor the big blue menu button: Music, IM+ (Third Party)
It's a nightmare to keep track of this. In the N80 either button works in every single application. It should be that way in the N95 too! This is such a basic bug that every Nokia technician should notice immidiately. Are they all using Sony Ericsson?
Actually, I think it's a design feature, rather than bug. Firstly, the menu button doesn't close any program - it just minimises the currently running program and take you to the main menu. So basically you just have two categories: programs that can be closed by the red button, and those which can't (i.e. Music, Radio, Web, IM+, Snake, SRF).
This makes sense to me as those are the kind of programs you don't really want to accidentally close by hitting the wrong key. Think about it - do you really want to lose your progress in the middle of a tense game just because you hit the red key accidentally? Similar with the others. Minimising in those situations is a much more sensible action to take.
Totally agree. I usually put the radio on then hit the red key so it goes back to the idle screen. It means I can get quick access to the active standby icons, the menu icons for which are tucked away becasue I never forsee needing to get at them that way

Sorry, I mean first use the menu button, then pressing "C". You can't close Camera, Music or IM+ that way.
