Doesn't SymSMB work with Ad-hoc connection?

A few days I purchased SymSMB for my N95 in order to transfer files back/forth to my laptop. (Since I heard that was pretty much the only way to do it)
My laptop got a WiFi-card but no wireless internet.

Thus I guess what I need to do is to set up an Ad-hoc connection between my N95 and my laptop, right?

For simplicity I temporarily use these settings (though I also tried some others) in my ad-hoc properties:
Network Autentification: Open
Data encryption: Disabled

Now when I try to connect using SymSMB, all that happens is that my laptop briefly says:
"Acquiring netwrok adress", then I constantly get an error-message from SymSMB saying:

"Failed to complete operation Error=-34".

How do I remedy this??

(As a side-note. I don't get any errors when connecting to this Ad-hoc using the phones own 'Network manager'-software, but that doesn't remedy my SymSMB-error)

I don't think this forum is technical enough for your problem, although i am sure they might be some one around that can help, so i think you are better off trying SymSMB 's support.

I would also be grateful of any advice or tips on this subject.
I have a laptop with wireless, and have fiddled trying to get an ad-hoc connection working with my n95 but with no joy.

I'm sure I read on another forum that this should be fairly straightforward - but alas, I've had no luck.

I'll get round to buying a wireless router which should help, but in the meantime would be keen to get this to work....

I'd say you need your laptop configured as dhcp server to give n95 ip address.
I never done that before so I'm not sure. But...
...I'll download the trial ver. and give it a go. If I manage to make it work (and if I'll be able to install it as I'm still waiting for my mCD) I'll let you know....
