Well....Lets get that Core exposed
In this ever growing Forum
I missed the part about the z drive.Iv been searching the furtherst corners and looked in all the topic.
But I cant find the post where the access part is mentioned..
Maybe it was at the old Forum location ??
Anyways...There will proberly be some issues here, so lets get it started
First off..Where the darn is that drive..
I remember something "compressed"..
Hmm..
To make the long story short...
When things like
<TABLE BORDER=0 ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=85%><TR><TD><font size=-1>Quote</font><HR></TD></TR><TR><TD><FONT SIZE=-1><BLOCKQUOTE>The only thing I found rleating to display was zsystemcontrolscrydisplay</BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE>rafe ??

I used Zip Manager.. i think there is other ways too..
Just compress whole Z drive and decompress it to somewhere (d) and you can examine those files..
You cannot actually access to z but it's fun to look what those files keeps inside and learn more about Linda..

Hi all,
I'm sure there is a way to access the z-drive without the use of any soft. On the psion this is Ctrl+tab on the system screen. So why wouldn't this be implemented in ER6?
I think it's just a matter of time to find out
regards
I dont know of any similar trick to Ctrl+Tab, but has anyone tried surfing to the Z drive using the web browser?
The other tricked that is used on the psion Revo is to do the following
1) Create a new file and name it Zsomething
2) You are on the Z drive.
3) Press Ctrl+B to go back to the Bookmark folder (or use Edit Goto Bookmark). This returns you to the C Drive.
I should add that whether any of these will work. i only have the emualtor to look at, so can get at Z very easily..

Rafe,
The known revortrick doesn't work either, i also tried that before. Using the webbrowser mb can work but only when you choose 'open webpage', not with 'open file'. But then we have the problem that (i think) there are no webpages on Z, so no luck either i guess

Wow, that browser thing is great. why i didn't notice that??... you can surf in z drive and if want, save the target as..
thanks<font size=-1>[ This Message was edited by JeP on 2001-09-29 1449 ]</font>
Can you tell me how you did this, Jep?
Cheers,
Jan
Start the web browser and "ctrl + o" as you say, then "file///z" and there it is
I try to save some .mbm pics but those wont open in file manager or i did something wrong?...
At least welcome.jpg shows in web browser correctly..
You're right! mbm files that are made rom cannot be opened by apps like imageview. They did this on purpose!Thesame problem is on psion too. MBMView for psion can open this mbm. That's why i would like to see this app for ER6 too
Thoooose BAD guys!!!... Can it do other way??
.rng , .txt , .dat seem get open someway?
Let's debug more
heh, about .txt
opening it in Web is not what i need as it is slow and cannot be edited
any other solutions? The word-app on psion can import txt, but ER6 word not it seems
I hope that 'Editor' from Symbian will become ER6 compatible soon!!!!
To open txt files you can use the Program program (the oPL editor if you have it). Choose import text from the File -> More submenu.
If you dont have it (and you probably don't yet) you might want to try viewja which I seem to recall will open text files. You can edit them though.
But I agree Symbian's Text Editor would be very welcome!
Sorry I cant be more helpful. I really need to get a 9210!
Rafe you're the boss!!! And bosses don't help
)))))
About the opl-editor i think it can only run on the emu and not on a real machine
Jan - he he -- sorry!
You may be right about the OPL editor! I thought it was, but dont have anyway to test it.
