Handsfree kit, how to use?

Hi,
I might be a bit dumb here.. But how are you supposed to put the factory shipped hands free kit around your neck. Each of the ear plugs are of different length, and the little clip doesn't help either.

Seems that i'm missing something here... :con?

Doesn't sound the same as mine, sound v.similar to a pair of sony headphones i had once. Put the shorter cabled one into 1 ear and then loop it round your neck into your other ear. Keeps them both in place without crossing over your body
