i have a n95 and i am looking around for a new carrier (i am currently with cingular) and i was wondering if there is a carrier that would let me use 3g or 3.5 g or who offers the best data plan for a n95 user?

i also have the N95 with cingular (at&t), but i believe the frequencies for 3g here in the usa are different from those in europe. the N95 therefore is not compatible for 3g here. sorry!

well i was on Route 21 North, NJ funny thing was it recalculated the route and told me that make a right turn which was entry ramp to route 21

So be Careful .....

😮

The reason you cant get US 3G compatible Nokia phones in US easily like europe is due to patent spat with Qualcomm they are still sorting it out.

they are reworking the N95 to accommodate the proper antennas for US 3G service. The reworked model will be out in October timeframe.

It will NOT be a firmware upgrade. you'll need a new phone.

Any other n95 users from the US in here? What plans are you using? I'm trying to look for a suitable data plan provider, but it seems T-Mobile is the only choice.:con?

i use T-Mobile and am on their $5.99 T-Zones plan. It's unlimited data, and since there is no US 3G for N95 users it's about the best plan I could find. It's not intended for fully functioned web browsing (according to T-Mobile) but it works fine and I havne't found a site I can't visit yet.

Cingular has a similar [limited] plan which includes 3G for $19.95 but it will NOT work (3g part of it) w/ our phones.
