Text message issue

Strange one this.... when I type in an SMS text ( M600i) when I get to 70 characters the number at the top shows it is now going to be 2 messages and if I send I get charged for 2 . However my operator allows 160 characters for 1 SMS. So I find that I by re starting messages a few times now drops it into 1 message. Anyone know what I need to change to make it default to 160 charachters?

I've got this problem too; I hadn't realised that I was being charged for more than 1 message - that's a pain.

This has happened to me too. I discovered it had to do with certain characters that aren't on the keyboard (like � or �). Can't remember which ones. Try it out...
