A couple questions for N80 Owners.

Hello All,

I just bought a N80 and I live in the U.S. and I had a few questions for some of you N80 owners.

Question #1: How do you carry your N80? Do you use a case? Pocket it? What is your choice of travel for it?

The reason I ask is because I don't like putting this phone in my pocket. I am afraid that it will loosen the slide screen.

Question #2: Since I live in the states 3G is relatively new, and when I asked about obtaining a 3G sim card for my N80 at Cingular/At&t the sales person told me that I would not be able to use the 3G services in the state of Georgia because it uses a different bandwidth than the phone. something about a 2100 bandwidth. Do you know if this is true?

Question #3: Do you all have any apps that you feel are GREAT apps for the N80 and absolutely need if you have the phone?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

My 2 cents 😊
I used to use the clear plastic case that you can find in Ebay...but, after a while...it's just a dust magnet. Nowadays I just put Martin Field's screen protector on it...and carry it in my pocket and pray that I won't drop it 😊

No 3G for us N80 owners in the US. US 3G is on diff. band (1900 I believe, as opposed to 2100) unfortunately

free ones: gmail, gmaps, x-plore file manager, AutoLock.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
You're Welcome !!
Re your first question about carrying cases it's been done to death in these 3 threads I found really useful.

sorry can't post hyperlinks as I'm new you'll have to copy paste.

I've now settled on one of those clear hard cases but as the above poster says it's apparently a dust magnet... so I might switch to the Krusell case as much as I don't like its looks. The Bugatti one looks pretty nice but it's quite impractical as you'd have to keep removing it to use the keypad.

1. Dont worry about cases myself. Have used but now dont. Dont like the extra girth to the phone, plus, I dont really need a case (I do have a few drop marks on it tho! )

2. N80 runs Quadband EDGE/GSM 850/900/1800/1900 + WCDMA 1900 or 2100 MHz.

3. Fring, Sipgate/Truphone etc, Opera, Ybrowser/Sysexplorer, S60SpotOn, Zip, TomTom, and some nice themes.

:icon14:

1. In my pocket. Just a screen protector - can't stand cases. Plus the N80 is thick enough already!!

3. Everything Flux and Kontraband said plus Resco Viewer, Lonely Cats Xplorer and Jukebox, most of the "Handy" brand apps, K-Rally, cDoom, Widsets and Yahoo Go (the original).

Essential Apps

I think a good application is one where everyone else I speak to says 'that's a good idea', and for me that has been BestProfiles.

Shozu is growing on me, and RoadSync has been pretty good. I'm personally underwhelmed by TomTom after having v5 on a 6600.

Holding it in my back pocket for 6 months now. Not a fluke.

I do take care not to drop my behind on it from great highs tho. I do drive every day sitting more or less on it. No side effects, slide is still one way (vertical) only. I wouldn't worry.
