I almost purchased an e90 from an importer in Chicago, IL USA, however, the packaging of the e90 did not indicate the 3G bands the handset was compatible with. Am I correct in assuming that any e90 will be compatible with the TMobile 3G networks about to be launched in the USA?
Thanks.
Hi mafranklin,
Last time I checked US operators have made 3G available only via WCDMA 850/1700/1900 frequencies. Given that the Nokia E90 Communicator operates via the following frequencies only:
- GSM quad-band (850/900/1800/1900)
- WCDMA HSDPA 2100
I don't think that the service will be available for this mobile phone unit.
It is also very doubtful that Nokia will open the other frequencies since US operators doesn't guarantee the market take up.
I suggest that you reconfirm the availability of the service form your all the available operators in your area just to be sure.
Cheers.
I am using E90 with T-mobile in USA, California. but oops, I have not used the 3G function. Only the GPS and wifi.
