Hi,
Has anyone else experienced this problem ?
I had about 60 odd mp3's (totallying about 300MB) that I selected to be copied to my N70-ME, using Music-Manager, after optimizing them for mobile, i.e. converting them to AAC (96 kbps). Not only did copying the 60 odd mp3's take ~2.5hours, for the entire duration I could see that the CPU consumption is constantly hovering around 99% (between 97-99%), and the entire PC had become unresponsive. 😡 This was on a laptop with 1GB RAM, 1.8GHz Centrino (single core Pentium), running WinXP-SP2 with all latest patches.
If someone has seen the problem, then has someone also come-accross a fix for this ?
thanks,
bd
The same on a 2.8 GHz Intel Pentium 4 with 1 GB of RAM. Processor was loaded 99% so I gave up and just put the mp3's on the phone, without conversion to aac.

As expected. 😎 So, when you directly transfer mp3 (instead of first converting them to .aac), you don't get the high CPU consumption problem ? :con?
Frankly, I've not tried transferring many mp3 together, yet! The PC I am using currently doesn't have bluetooth, and left the data-cable at home. Will try this.
Anyhow, I think if I use an external mp3->aac converter, might be able to circumvent this issue.

No, because I tranfered the files with File manager from PC Suite. Afterwards I ripped my CD's in ogg format, since I was using OggPlay.
Try to transform the format by other application (if you need conversion). New versions of PC Suite may not work correctly. But I'm not use PC Suite never. Simply put mp3s to your card and enjoy 😊
