reading in contacts from SIM

Folks.

My previous phone was a sony ericsson, so when I put the SIM from that phone in my N95 and read in the contacts, they show up in the N95 as unique enties for each number.

eg.

john smith/M
john smith/H
Jenny hart/H
steve price/M

Q.
does anyone know if there is a way to read in contacts in a way that the N95 will group the names into one entry with the two seperate phone numbers as different fields of the unique contact.

eg.

John Smith

M +61414987654
H 03 9205 9999

That's because on the SIM card, the entries are really stored as one name&number pair, and the Contacts app on the N95 shows them separately, and if you copy them to phone memory, they remain separate.

I can't think of any other way to fix the situation, than manually (on the phone, or on a PC), copy the "additional" entries to a single contact record, and then deleting/removing the unnecessary contacts after that.

Yeh i agree its extremely annoying, i moved from a nokia to a sony ericsson, and had to do it for that, and now am moving back to nokia with the n95 so gonna have to do it again!
