How can i find the MAC address of the N80, as i need it to allow it on my home network. It want the 'MAC Address of wireless adaptor'
The phone is picking up the network, just not staying connected to it even with full signal.
I also want to know if theres a good internet browser i can get for my N80!

opera browser is good
I second the Opera browser, in fact I'm using it right now. Opera Mini isn't bad either, since it's free.

yup, the numbers to letter conversion spells "MAC WLAN" bit easier to remember that way. 😉
Plus... Opera is great.. the Opera 4 beta is a good improvement on v3.
cheers, ive found the mac address and allowed it on my router, iv also set the phone up correctly to connect to the network, it picks it up, says it has a strong connection, but then when i try to connect i get WLAN: WLAN NOT AVAILABLE, does anyone know why this is? im going to keep playing about and trying different settings, just want to know if theres a way that'l save me time!
enable the DHCP it will work fine 😉
You have to match the settings in the access point identically.
* Name is case sensitive. (SSID)
* Hidden SSID works differently than public. Make sure you select correctly.
* Make sure it's infrastructure for a router/access point.
* Some routers use proprietary password encoding, make sure you use the exact same password, if on WEP use hex, not the ASCII.
* For WPA, make sure you match TKIP settings.
When you connect with web browser, the list of available connections should list the access point with the WLAN name on it. If it doesn't, you screwed the SSID/set it to public when hidden.
If it looks like connecting but doesn't put anything through, it's most likely a mac filter or bad password, some routers do that.
A "Not Found" message typically means bad settings for security. If the WLAN pops up in the list of connections, you got the SSID OK. Check password, broadcast/hidden and the security mode+pass.
all the above is correct but sometimes the N80 seems to tell you it aint working only for you to try again 10 seconds later and it goes thru~ :con?
It's a small antenna and fiddling with it as well as pacing around angrily changes signal. Hand position has a saying.
And yes, sometimes it just needs 10 seconds to feel around. You may have conflicted with an internal, already-ongoing scan? Dunno. It does that.
And experience says 1 meter can make the difference. Really.
