6 replies · 6,567 views · Started 11 July 2007

I have released my program TheSolution :
Solve math equations , graph equations and a very special part for quadratic equations (believe me it is better than any other quadratic equation solver)

Note : This is the new version v1.01 a bug in Ratic has been fixed
Note : Download the app from the blog or from the attachments , any new version , additional help files any thing will be placed in the blog http://TheSolutionTS.blogspot.com

--MAIN DIALOGUE---

Left side --> Enter the left side of the equation here
Right side --> Enter the right side of the equation here
Type --> Choose the equation type(General/Logarithmic)
IMPORTANT: Make sure u defined Type before everything
Show progress --> I advise u to choose 'No'
IMPORTANT: If u choosed 'Yes' the prog wil be much slower
Show indicator --> This is good keep it 'Yes'
Start -->The point from which the prog will start trying
End --> The end point
Step -->The step
Accuracy -->:
Accuracy is the minimum difference required
The prog will stop trying when deifference between left side and right side is
equal to or less than Accuracy
if the prog noticed that the difference is going up for ten times he will notify
u and give u 4 choices:
Yes --> The prog will continue and he will still notify u again if he noticed that
the difference is still going up for 10 times.
No --> The prog will stop and display the best answer he could get.
Turn --> The prog will turn back.
Don't ask --> The prog will continue and he will not display this message again.

---OPERATIONS---

use the following in writing the equation:
+ , - , * , /
X**n --> means X to the power n
sqrt(X) --> square root of X
exp(X) --> raise e to the power X
sin(X) , cos(X) , tan(X)
asin(X) , acos(X) Remeber : Start point and end point must be in the range (-1 : 1) or you will get ERROR
atan(X) --> arc tan of X
log(X) --> logarithm of X (base 10)
ln(X) --> natural logarithm of X (base e)
log(X)/log(n) --> means logarithm of X and base is n
pi --> The pi constant
e --> The e constant

and always use parenthesis ( ) to control the order of the operations

---BUTTONS---

OK --> Start it!
Graph it --> Start the grapher (see Grapher below for explanation)
Test it --> This is a very good function it tests the equation and help u configuring:
Start,End,Step,Accurace
and if the answer is between -10 and 10 it may give u it
IMPORTANT: Dont forget to choose Type first.
Ratic --> Starts ***THE RATIC*** I really like it.(see Ratic below for explanation)

---Grapher---

Enter the Accuracy of the graph , point of Start , point of End and press OK.
after the program graph the function u can press:
arrow keys to move
Ctrl + arrow key to move faster
Zoom in/out
Enter to redraw the graph
Esc to return to the main dialogue

please note that sometimes the graph will be ugly because the prog is still under develop
especially the Zoom function

---R-a-t-i-c--- The quadratic equations conqueror

This part is for solving quadratic equations that is have the form aX2+bX+c=0
like X2+8X+15=0

u have 4 buttons when u open the Ratic:
OK --> Solve the equation
About
Graph it --> graph the function
Cancel

What is goin' on , I worked hard on this prog

and there is no reply

just one reply will satisfy me

if u don't like the prog say it

maybe u don't like math tools???

there is no prog that does what this prog does , and it doesn't get any support

I think that this program is great

and why others' programs gain great support although it's rubbish compared with this

for example there is a program called "Ratic.opo" just for solving quadratic equations and there are many who downloaded it , and mine is really more powerful than it in solving quadratic equations 'cause it recreates the the equation
for example when u type:
a=5
b=6
c=-56
it returns :
(5X-14)(X+4) = 0

this is amazing , I did great effort to make it . I didn't even find this function in a PC program

plus it has other functions ... what about the graphing function
it's damn good I would wish to have a program on my phone that graphs equations if I didn't create this program
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Damn !!!

Don't be upset. It might take a long time for people that need this type of program to discover it (and appreciate it, if it is good). Patience. Patience.

I have no need for such an app, so I never tried.

You probably also should post screenshots on your blog (or here) so that people can see what it looks like before trying.

Note also that this is not the only Symbian site, and that if you wrote it only to work on the Nokia 9300/9500 phone models, that those phones are no longer being manufactured (and probably only a small fraction of the users of those models come here in the first place).

I second what N/A said. Besides, communicators are mostly with business people, who usually don't have a need for such scientific applications. I know that the last time I did some heavy equation solving was back during my college days.

In addition to what N/A said about posting screen shots, may I suggest that you change your post icon to a smiley face or something happy (instead of an angry, frowning and intimidating face). I mean you're announcing something that you've enjoyed creating, this should be a happy moment for you not a moment of anger and head banging 😊

Just my thoughts, please take them lightly, no offense intended 😊

Good luck...

I'm sorry for what I said :redface:

and I really want to thank you for your reply

it really helped me 😊

If you want lots and lots of users and feedback, you should "port" it to Symbian S60. As it is not a "game" or a very advanced utility (e.g. hack) changes how device works, it should be easy not?

S60 is the most popular Symbian/Smart device flavor I heard.

I also like to repeat my suggestion, if you coded a scientific program, the best place is still the Usenet and Science related download places.
