Hi all, upgraded my firmware last week to the latest but decided rightly or wrongly to remove my memory card prior to the upgrade. It all seemed to work very well and after loading the memory card I was able to reinstall some of the applications but none of my games now work, they all show as installed and the icons are there but nothing happens when I select them.
Now when I boot the phone it advises there is untrusted software on the memory card and to go to the app manager to install, I have tried this and the games show but I can't see a way of installing them again from here?
Also I have tried removing the games but the removing always fails, how can I get rid of them, I can't see them in any folder on the memory card?

When you're in the app manager, do the entries for the games show as installed or uninstalled?
They show as installed which is the strange thing!

actually every time i upgrade the firmware i have to reinstall all the application that were on the phone

It is normal. Apps which were installed solely on the memory card will reinstall themselves. Those which were (partially) on the phone need to be reinstalled.
spendleb, you will need to reinstall the misbehaving applications using their .sis files. Whenever I have to do this I look for the files on the provider's website if possible rather then just reinstalling the saved version from my computer as there are often newer versions available, so this is an opportunity to update.
I often find some components are missing so I have to reinstall which makes the icon appear (but not work), then uninstall and finally reinstall again.
After a F/w update always hard reset and format the phone memory. this removes every trace of installed apps. Then create a folder on your mem card and drop your sis files for your apps you want to install into this folder. you can now reinstall all your apps from the card. The install will create new positions for the apps on the phone and will run faster and be more stable. The apps will still look to the existing data folders on the mem card which were created by the previous install.
Biggest piece of advice don't backup and restore with PC suite.
I can't get the games from the provider as they won't reissue them, they reckon in reality they are 'rented' as they would need to purchase them again to send them to me, they now offer a 99p monthly insurance for issues with upgrading firmware removing the games and I've managed to get them to give me so many credits so I can replace a number of them but I still can't remove the old ones from the memory card which is annoying!
