Anyone been able to transfer any iTunes Plus music onto the N95? I thought this would be OK now given the DRM removal but the N95 appears to still not recognise it?
iTunes Plus??
Apple added some non-standard piece to the DRM-free iTunes files, apparently, to track who bought/downloaded them (so that they and EMI would know who redistributes them).
Try this (until Nokia implements a workaround on the phone for Apple's tricks):

Sounds brilliant, tried to install it on my phone and it advises 'invalid jar file', did you get it to work?
I haven't bought anything from iTunes ever, so no need for playing with their files.
Found if you go to iTunes and select the song and then 'convert to AAC format', these can then be transferred to the N95 and work.

I think you'll find, and according to Apple, this info was already embedded in the file. But removing the DRM hasn't removed this info. The stink is, if DRM removed, then why the need for this info? Conspiracy theorists argue that it is a way to track those that might redistribute. But being a law abiding citizen, and not prone to giving to all and sundry via P2P, what does it matter what the file contains? Look at it another way, it confirms the file is yours, should someone pinch it. 😉

It's not for the phone
It's a JAVA program for OS X that fixes the metadata so N95 will play the files.

I have tried and tried the 'convert to AAC format' then sent it to my N95, no effect, the track still appears with a cross over the music symbol on the phone and it wont go!
What can I be doing wrong?

Why dont you convert the tracks to MP3? The N95 will certainly play those.
I think it's depends on your converter program. :con? Recently I used TuneCab converter and was satisfied with it.:icon14:
or you could download the files from somewhere else.........
I have a Nokia E50 and never had problems in transfering music to it. I always run the files through a converter called Tunebite, make mp3's out of them and they play without problems.
I did this with the protected ones and now with the un-drmed ones and there is no watermarking or some other marks on them.
Hy,
I convert all audio and video files with Tunebite, cause it is easy to use and its functions are very useful....😉
Download DRM-free versions of the songs from torrents or other p2p. As long as you have a legit copy paid for and you don't distribute. you are not breaking the law
Hi guys,
I have am older Nokia model(I don't think they even make it anymore loool). But I generally use Tunebite to convert the audio files into mp3's, which I can afterwards play on my phone.
Btw, I was thinking about getting an N95 but I heard that the battery kind of sucks and you're lucky if it lasts you a day.
Who can tell me something about Audials One??? I heard that it is a new tool and works great....Did someone try it???
I heard about this tool, too and I googled around in order to find out smth about it. I got its demo version, it has 3 big features very useful for me(converts, downloads musics and videos). You can see it here
