N92 - "Unable to Install" .sis files

2 replies · 5,371 views · Started 13 July 2007

I recently acquired N92 and included in it is a 128MB Nokia provided MiniSD.
I wanted to have a bigger capacity so I bought a 2GB 'Transcend' MiniSD. (formatted it using the phone)
Everything is working well - images and videos are saved EXCEPT when i tried installing .SIS files. A message "unable to install" keeps on appearing.
Whats the problem? Is it the software of N92?

Please help.

Thanks.

In the "App.mgr." settings, make sure "Software installation" is set to "All".

Then make sure you're trying to install S60 3rd Edition apps (apps for earlier S60 versions will not work).

And many .sis/.sisx files are depending on a 5-year-old certificate that just expired. A workaround: set the phone's date back a couple of months, install, and then change the time back.
