Connecting N95 to Internet via PC USB connection..?

Hi all. I'm trying to set up Avantgo on my N95, connected to my PC via USB. It's raised an issue that I'm having trouble getting around...I'm assuming the N95 should be able to connect to the Internet via my PC's net connection, whilst connected via USB. Am I wrong in assuming this? Cheers.

Basically, yes, your assumption is wrong. The phone doesn't 'know' anything about your pc like how it connects to the net etc. You would have to set up some kind of internet connection sharing and I doubt there is software available for the phone to do this anyway since I really don't see much call for such a use

As you have a connection theoretically you should be able to do what you want, but, I know of no software to accomplish this.
This should also be possible via WiFi. There is software called SymSMB (http://www.getjar.com/products/9214/SymSMB) which allows browsing of your phone but don't think the other way!

hrm ok thanks chaps. Even being able to sync my Avantgo stuff over USB would be nice right now...every time I sync, the N95 starts using a GPRS connection, even though it's connected to the laptop via usb. I haven't used Avantgo for a few years, & then it was with an iPaq, but I'm pretty sure it should be able to sync via my pc..???
