TomTom Quickfix

I have heard that some TomTom devices have a list of where sattelites are to get a lock alot faster. Is this possible with TomTom Navigator?

i believe wat yer refering to is some gps devices remember the last position they was when they was switched off so they instantly presume yer there , now obviously this would only cause a slight delay then if youd gone some where n not used the sat nav then decide to use it from another location

a few bluetooth gps devices do this itll be in there spec

All modern GPS remember their last position, including the N95.

You can't have a list that tells you where they are, but systems like the N95's assisted GPS send the data to your phone which help speed things up.

People are constantly confusing hardware with software. The GPS reception is independent from the software. All the software does is get the co-ords, it's can't improve on how the GPS chipset works.

Thats not what I mean atall.
Tomtom Quickfix is software to download the sattelites positions using PC / data connection in advance to get a much faster lock.

Does it work on mobile?

This is what aGPS does for you on N95, downloading pos./orbit information data from a server using dataconnection instead of waiting for the complete datastream from each satellite.
Since firmware upgrade to 12.x I'm getting a fix in some 10-20 seconds each and everytime (!!). I've had both a TomTom bluetooth Sirfstar II and Sirfstar III chipset and have NEVER EVER gotten a fix this fast on either. From what I can understand TT QuickFIX is some kind of variant of aGPS (AssistedGPS).
