Right, after playing about with the trial version of symSMB, i realised it must be possibly to stream video wirelessly to the N95, i started thinking back to about a year ago, when i bought a PSP, and there was a bit of software which basically took standard .avi .mpeg etc and converted it to a decent resolution for the PSP screen, and then with a tricky setup, you could wirelessly stream to the PSP through your home network. (Watching Scrubs whilst on the toilet = win)
With further setup (which i didnt bother with) it was then possible to set it up so that you could wirelessly stream from your home PC to your PSP, from basically any location, (essentially the same as a Sony Location Free unit)
So i was about to make a post here asking if anyone knew of a similar Symbian applications which did the same thing, when i started to look for the software which i had used, so ppl had an example what i was talking about. Looked at the software and realised the new version, basically didnt need software on the mobile unit, as it can viewed from an internet browser! ***Since i cant post links til my 10th post, google "pimpstreamer" and it should be the second link***
AWESOME i thought, so i sat down and started to set it up, it works on the PC, and trying it through the router (192.168... address) and ive also tried inputting my IP address and re-routing the incoming call through to the serving PC and its worked, and ive given friends the address and its worked for them. I obviously wont put it here, as it will get spammed from hell to back 😞
However when i tried connecting locally from my N95 the actuall bit where you select what video to stream doesnt load. After looking into it, it turns out the flash-lite on the phone, doesnt support SFV, so therefore the flash bit of the page doesnt load, and hence no video streaming :icon13: :icon13: :icon13:
anyone have any ideas or solutions around it? or know of any apps which do the same thing. I unfortunately have no programming experience so from that point of view im pretty useless, but after getting all excited about getting the phone monday, im running out of amazing things to tell friends/work mates what its capable of. This would be the absolute winner and cement the phone as the ULTIMATE thing to have in your pocket, and id be surprised if it wasnt on everyones top 10 apps for N95 list
Help please
