E61 battery issue

I bought a second hand E61 and I have an issue with the battery: unplugged from charger in the morning, the battery meter shows 100% until afternoon and then starts to drop one line every one or two hours. By the next morning the battery is empty. I used to talk approx 50-60 minutes per day. I bought a new battery but there is no change. I made a software update (even though it has the latest version) and again nothing changed. I use it only on GSM (not on dual mode). Its normal? Its a malfunction? What could be the reason?

I had the same problem when I had my E61 initially. There were two causes. First the urge to play with the phone before the battery has been calibated. Drain it completly on first use, charge it forvever and then use. Over a couple of days it settles down.

Secondly, MobileMail from 3 recveiving Push Email drained it faster than continuous wifi use. Changed the settings and all seemed well.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Since I do not have MobileMail installed I'm praying that the first mentioned cause is the one responsible for this behavior. When I bought the new battery, I used the phone until one line remained (I couldn’t wait until the low battery warning), charge it for 8-9 hours and intensively used (as I told you 50-60 minutes talking). Next day in the morning the battery was drained. I didn’t have time to charge it for 4-5 hours so I replaced it with the old battery. When I came back in the evening I switched them back and I charged the new battery for 8-9 hours. Again the same level of usage and again next morning I was warned about low battery. Now I’m going to charge it for the 3rd time. Shall I continue this cycle and it will settle down? Is there anything more I can do?
