Hi all ,,, can I please ask a few questions ,,, please excuse my stupidity but Im new to this ,,, when in Italy a few weeks ago I bought my first PDA type phone which is a Nokia e61 ,,, i bought it from a TIM telephne shope put in my Sim (o2) and it works fine ,, however when i boot the phoone I gat all the Italian TIM mobile operaters screens and logo's etc ,, I called Nokia here in the UK and they gave me some numbers to punch in and said that the phone would reset to factory defaults but it has not made any difference ,,, how can I get rid of this ,,, do I have to reload the OS on the phone ,, if so how do I go about this ,,,, any help would be appreciated ,,,

Regards Tony

I think you may have to send your phone to a Nokia service centre to reflash the firmware. Your E-61 has a customised firmware not generic. Doing a hard reset will reinstall the firmware that is already in the ROM.

You can use NSS to change your product code to the manufacturer product code (Nokia) and then use the NSU to install the new OS. This would take away the italian stuff and use nokia's OS just as if it you purchased the phone from Nokia
