6110 Navigator GPS program -> N95

Hi,

I have read some tests and reviews about the 6110 Navigator.
The strange thing is that some reviews say, the 6110 Navigator comes with Route66 preinstalled. Other reviews say it's TomTom installed.
What is the truth?

Also as I understood, the Route66 software on the 6110 Navigator works with Voice-Guide without paying extra for it as it is with Nokia Maps on the N95. Is that right?
I think it's a shame... you have a N95 and can't use the Voice-Navigation without paying for it. But in the smaller 6110 Navigator you have it included for free. (included in the price for the mobile).

Would like to have the same feature in the N95.
Is it possible to download and use the 6110's navigator software on the N95?

Regards
Geraner

I have one, and its definatly route66, preinstalled. The maps you get depend on where you get it from. I had to get mine from another country, so I had to buy my maps (rather I didnt now grrr). Ive no idea where you saw that it said it had tomtom installed.

Tomtom only works on the N95 -even thought its not offically supported- if you use a bluetooth GPS, will not work with the internal one.

Route66 is NOT transferable from the 6110 to anything else. This is due to it being built into the 6110 navigator. As you can see from another thread on here, people have got it to work, but its an older version, which doesnt support 7 digit postcode entry.

After using route66 a lot in direct comparision with tomtom 5 (which is older), I think route66 is AWFUL.

Others say its not so bad, but I have found that although the maps seem fine, the routing can often be bad, and I mean bad.

Co-pilot works with the internal GPS on the N95, but is expensive, and I cant actually find many reviews on how good it is.

Myself, Im waiting for Navigon to release a version that will support the N95 and 6110. They say its due in august or september. If it stays the same as the current price, its around £80-£90 for all of europe which is a damn sight better than any other satnav.

I would use tomtom, but their customer support is utterly dire, and refuse to answer anyones questions on when (or even if) support for the N95 and 6110 will come out.

So if you want a decent satnav for the car, either get copilot (and let us know how it goes!) or play the waiting game.

I have tested TomTom as well. But I don't like the voice of the swedish talking lady. She talks sooooo slooowly... that you have passed the waypoint until she finished saying, "turn left".
The voice in Nokia Maps is much better. The routing is ok. Not the best but it is working.

I was looking at the homepage of Navigon. Looks great!
But as you say, now MobileNavigator version for the N95 available yet.
So we have to wayt and see...
