Outlook Sync

Hi everyone. I tried searching the forum for this before posting, couldn't find my exact answer so here goes:

I'm syncing to Outlook using the m600 sync software that came with the phone. Calendar, tasks etc all work fine.

Email (Sync'd) however does not - this was expected, as I use IMAP for several email accounts, and dont use the 'default' local inbox/outbox etc at all - this is the inbox it's syncing when i enable email sync.

However, there's no option in the sync software to choose a different inbox to sync to - this is standard Outlook crappiness as it handles IMAP very, very poorly. I prefer Thunderbird for email but the Sony software won't sync to that

Anyone have any ideas how i can get one of the IMAP accounts as my sync'd email? I dont want to use GPRS and connect normally due to the extortionate GPRS charges here in Britain.

Have you tried one of the free online synchronisation services such as ScheduleWorld or Memotoo, using WiFi instead of GPRS?

If the bundled suite doesn't work for you, and WiFi is not an option, you could have a go at installing a Funambol server on your PC to act as the middle man between Outlook and your phone. Funambol is open source and free to use.

MrE - thanks for your response. For completeness in case other people come here, I ended up using Bynari Insight Connector from bynari.net - the $29 for a single license was more than acceptable, and now all my data is not only in outlook, but backed up on my IMAP server too. And it's a hell of a lot faster than Outlook's native IMAP support.

Cheers
