Seems like the thing got corrupted.
Symptoms : When i take a new image with the camera, it won't store it right. It captures it, shows the captured image, but when i exit to take the new image, the old one is corrupted...eg cannot read file, cannot copy it via PC, and stuff like that. Same thing with MP3's...3 GB's of "old" ones are working right, but when i copy a new song from my PC, it won't play it. It starts clipping, then plays brief sequences from other songs, then the phone goes to deadlock. I can move and copy around the files i already had on my HDD seamlessly, works alright, but seems like all new files get corrupted.
Can't format the drive. Says "HDD not available". Tried both hard and soft resets, same thing. In offline mode, USB cable not hooked up. Mass storage mode is not working either. I deinstalled all apps from HDD, soft-reseted the device, nothing should be active from HDD, but same thing happens.
The system version is 2.10.013. I could upgrade it, but i really don't know is it going to fix this issue.
Any suggestions? Thx in advance.
had something similar happen with hard drive..
phobne wasnt booting up with battery cover on.. and when i took the cover off it booted up but without access to hard drive to format it... when i put the cover on it would crash the phone as it was trying to access the phone HDD..
what i found out was if you turn the phone on with the battery cover off the phone doesnt look for the hard drive to load any programs.. so just as the nokia logo as its booting put the battery cover on and it will have loaded up without looking into the hdd go to tools- hard drive- full format (i found you can copy the files onto the pc before formating but non of the stored .sis files worked properly.. had to reinstall from different files)
this worked for me...
Thanks, Steve! It's working now, full format is going at the moment. I soft-resetted the device again, powered it up without the cover, it booted normally, just the HDD is offline. Then placed the cover again, HDD went online, and the format got accepted!
Anyways, when it gets complete, i'll try to hook up cell again in mass storage mode, it should work then. Gonna upgrade the OS, too.
Thanks again man, thx a lot!
