Out of memory?

2 replies · 2,369 views · Started 22 July 2007

Dear board members,

I received my E90 2 days ago. Since then, I migrated my date from my Palm, installed applications and so on...

I'm now running into a severe problem with available memory when applications are started. Both Calendar and Synchronization issue an "out of memory message" with a request to close programs to proceed. Problem is, there are no programs I can close... When I bring up the task list (long pushing the menu button) it is empty except for the Desktop application. :frown:

Overall free memory is pretty high, approximatley 120meg.

Any help appreciated.

Harald

P.S. I have a huge number of calendar entries synchronized (8000), is this a problem? Had this all on my Treo 650 which has by far less memory...

I don't have any personal experience with such large number of calendar entries but it seems most likely this is causing the problem. 8000 entries - VERY unusual.

Sorry, not unusual for professional use!

I reduced the time synchronized to +- 1 year, approximately 2000 dates. Now everything works. However, this is disappointing as I really don't understand why there should be such a limit on a device with so much space. As I said, my Palm Treo had no problems with more than 6 years of calendar entries...

I hope this will be fixed, contacted Nokia.

Kind regards, Harald
