i just updated to fw 12. i know the new firmware has the a-gps with it and I don't have a data package plan and afraid that it would cost a bunch to use A-gps and wanted to know where do i go to turn the a-gps off?
i can't seem to find where to turn 'a-gps' off.

thanks

PS. ...by the way, aGPS uses very small amount of data, approx 6kb once everytime you initiate the GPS.

Yes, it's cheap, cost me 8p.

Question, once I've got a lock, will there be futher data transefer? I'm wondering if I should turn A-gps off once I get a lock?

No, aGPS is used to get the initial fix. I've never seen it used more than 6kb / session.

Does A-GPS help only to get fix or does it help to keep position as well, i.e. does it improve the sensitivity and stability so that the current position is not lost so easily during navigating between high buildings?

Based on tech.specs I agree with bartmanekul but my practical experience says otherwise. Since firmware upgrade and aGPS enabled I manage to get fix and keep lock in places where I never got it before.

Just thought Id add for anyone wanting to know....

If you disable the same on a 6110 navigator menu - settings - phone settings - general - positioning - tick the 'Integrated GPS' option then I can confirm it *does not* use packet data.

Im saying this because there are various reports of it using packet data anyway. You must make sure that only the one I specified is ticked.

And also because theres precious little information on forums for the 6110 navigator. There isnt even a forum for it on here yet 😞
