sounds like you havent closed one of your programs and its still running in the background.
turn ya phone off and back on see if it works

Install a software like Taskman or FExplorer and close process by process, to found which one do that.

Have you checked your email settings to make sure check interval isn't activated? (usually email settings then select the 1 that says "check for new messages - make sure it's set to off)
