4gb non SDHC MiniSD for N73 ??

Hello

Just got the new Western Europe 2007 Tom Tom Maps and they are 1.67gb. This wont fit on my 2gb N73 memory card.

I have read on here that some people have successfully bought 4gb MiniSD cards, formatted them to FAT(16) and they worked.

However I can only find for sale, Ebay, MyMemory etc 4gb MiniSD SDHC cards and these apparently do not work no matter what.

Does anyone know where you can get 4gb MiniSD non SDHC cards. I dont think its possible and I think these guys are BS. Either that or they bought the SDHC card which is formatted to Fat32. Formatted it to Fat16 then it worked. Any ideas ?

mate you dont make many people wanna help you by calling them bshitters do you???????

yes i have a 4gb memory card in my n73 yes it works and no its not a 4gb sdhc card

its not hard to find non sdhc cards on ebay there are loads however only 1 type i have tryed has worked and ive tryed many ranging from kingston to transcend but the only one that worked for me was a oem 4gb mini sd

dont expect the card to work brilliantly mine works fine untill i try to record video on to it in m4p format then the phone will freeze and i will have to take the battery out to get it going again

but i can play music from it run tomtom6 from it and save normal 3.2 mp pics to it with no troubles at all and the phone is still quite fast it only has slow down when installing apps to it and as stated before the video recorder

anyways heres a link to the one i bought just to prove that were not bshitting you

like i said before dont expext it to work brilliantly with no troubles as the n73 is only meant for 2gb but you will be able to run tomtom 6 of it no troubles

and next time try not to call the people bshitters just because you havent got as much knowledge as them man its a bit sad

anyways enjoy

The concept of getting bigger storage cards may not just lie only with whether the phone was designed to take a particular maximum size ,but it might also depend on the system firmware of the phone.
If newer firmwares were released that could allow a phone having a normal max card storage of 2gb to run a 4gb or higher(without any problem) -then it would be all good. .

Then again, maybe system firmware's aren't a factor?!?

but at the moment the phone is only designed for 2gb even with the latest firmware so the card may work but the phone might not like it

yes in the future it might be able to handle 4gb but i doubt nokia would do this untill the n91 stops selling as it would draw sales away from the dedicated 4gb music phone as the n73 would be then better in every way (apart from wifi)

peace out
