Bluetooth 2.1+EDR - faster, better, nearer

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group, the more than 8,000-member strong trade association responsible for advancing Bluetooth wireless technology, today announced the adoption of Core Specification Version 2.1+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate), with advances in security, simplified pairing, power consumption and Near Field Communications. I really like the sound of the new pairing procedure, even experienced phone users can find it tricky to pair devices sometimes. Newbies can find it very confusing because they think they have to type in some specific code rather than choose one of their own (the N800 actually autogenerates a code during pairing so newbies don't have to think too much 😉 ).

Pairing is especially difficult if a device has no display or input method, for example headphones, and you have to remember the pairing code from the manual.

I really want to experience simplified pairing in real life. Currently pairing process makes the bluetooth very nasty in certain applications...
