Ok, so after updating to 4.0727.2.2.1 ME, the Bluetooth version of my trusty BT77 GPS device is no longer compatible so I need a new GPS device.
I have a few that I am looking at on eBay but thought I would canvass your opinions.
Let me know what you have (make/model), where you got it from (I'm in the UK) and what version of firmware you are running on your N73 and of course, most importantly, how you are getting on with it.
I see lots of 44 channel units about nowadays. Are these vastly superior to 32 channel units ?
All (sensible & informed) opinons welcome 😃
hiya mate

this one works ace used it for a while with every new v4 that ive had iam now on the music v4 it also works with my mates n73 v4 normal and i know someone else from the forums that uses one with his n73 new music v4

hes a uk seller ive bought off him before and this model will work 100% you can even buy spare batterys off ebay for it for extra long long journeys i think the battery life is 20+ when my phone connects to it thats it 😊 locked 😊 for the whole journey

Yep, I have same unit, purchased from a different supplier on ebay. Works perfectly with my N73ME with latest firmware. The 44 channel one's should be even better, but, as I said, this 32 channel one works perfectly.
Ebay Item number: 270015429239
😊
WAIT TRY THIS FIRST!
Guys
last night whilst sitting bored and messing about with my n73 ME
v4.0727.2.2.1 i made an excellent discovery. as we know nokia (retards) removed the drivers that make alot of gps devices not work. mine would not work and is pretty old compared to the newer ones but i got it to work and went for a drive in the car today and it worked fine (hurray).
this is what i did!
go to bluetooth section on your phone and try to pair it with your receiver, even if you have one ENTER THE WRONG CODE, obviously the phone wont pair. then go to your tomtom icon and start it up as normal, either search for the receiver or mine just connects automatically. i have 2 receivers, one at work and one at home. i only tried this with the one i haveat home (the older of the 2) and it works. my gps receiver is shown as cp-bit and was from ebay.
fingers crossed this will work for others till nokia hurry up and get the problem sorted (although i doubt they will)
many thanks
graham (this is my first post on here but i made this the other day on dotsis)

Nope, tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I offered 15 and he declined 😞 And I can't make another offer.
I've made another offer on an identical unit from another seller, so fingers crossed. Otherwise, I'll just do a buy it now 😊
Thanks for all the responses guys 😃

yeah mate-- but hes got brains ebay cant take there seller fees out of postage hence why he puts the price up on the postage and lowers the buy it now price, other sellers total price will be nigh on identical maybe less postage but more money to buy only difference is these sellers will pay ebay more seller fees
its a trick ebay sellers use to avoid paying ebay so much-- i look at the total price all in not the item price then the postage otherwise youd feel like you was being robbed everytime on ebay
i used to sell my items as 1p buy it now and 100 pound postage or whatever simply because out of 1p they cant take a perecntage at all but there on the case and do you for trying to avoid seller fees usaully ends in a warning
call him a robber i call it clever mate all i care is i got a decent gps device for 26 pounds with insured delivery and it was delivered in 2 days not 2 weeks like other sellers
its a decent 1 as well
so 26 pounds all in for tomtom 6 fully working aint bad is it?? lol
when using ebay mate id just work on the total price as 90% of sellers use this trick to avoid seller fees being so much
sorry mate 29 pounds all in
for a 32 sat reciever boxed new with charger and car charger and anti slip mat with good battery life and guranteed wrking with all v4 n73s it aint bad so i wouldn worry urself about the few pounds extra as where are you going to buy summin simmilar for this price??
not wanting to drag along an old thread, but:
i bought a GLOBALSAT BT-359 W/S Bluetooth GPS Receiver Item number: 120148862259, from ebay, not the cheapest but the performance is top notch.
