Hi mates,
I always observed that some applications couldn't be running at the same time, especially those memory-consuming ones. For example Nokia Maps was always closed automatically while trying to take photos. I could accept it, as I understood that memory is limited to handle many application in parallel.
Unfortunatelly, I noticed last time that problem with memory started to occur even if I try to open my web pages which I used to surf in the past and no other applications are running in the background. It looks like my available memory got decreased. I guess that probably one of the applications installed last time must occupy memory even if it is not running or something like this.
The question is about the tools which I can use to check memory occupation and find the cause of my problems.
Thanks in advance
Thanks for your help.
Application show to me:
- RAM - 14.9 M / 48.0 M
- phone memory - 87.4 M / 147 M
- memory card - 1.8 G / 3.8 G.
Is it correct? It looks like I have not much free memory,
although Taskman is the only application running.
Any hint?
Is this straight after a restart?
If I reboot my device I get around 21 to 22mb straight after, although this does 'bleed' away to around 16 to 17 mb after running a few apps, even after closing them down.

I'm running V12 Sim Free.
Just rebooted. No apps running (apart from Handy Taskman)
Ram = 17.8M
Phone = 114M
Does that seem low?
If so, what can be done about it?

You are right.
Stright after restart it shows 19.1 M / 48.0 M.
So, it's more than I reported previously.
However, it goes down after running some applications and closing them down.
Strange, it looks like memory management is not very well.

Actually, I doubt their memory management would be as bad as that...
It's more likely that they'll leave stuff cached in memory as long as it's not anywhere near full, so that when you load those apps again it'll be a lot quicker. So yeah, Symbian isn't leaking memory quite that dramatically 😊
You are right, it can't be so bad.
But how to explain that my memory usage increased,
so that I can't even open some web pages which I could in the past,
or play music while opening another application?
... and how to diagnose problem?
