hi

gettin my n95 from o2 on friday, hopefully! and a few things i would like to ask if possible

best place to get a cheap spare battery?

best place to get extra memory?

best place to get screen guards?

do i need to do a software update or should it be ok?

what are the best applications to have? im pretty worried about the battery life situation so dont want to load it up with too much crap, just the most useful apps would be good

thanks in advance for any help with these
cheers
Jonathan

Don't get a "cheap" spare battery, get an official Nokia one.
You run a higher risk of getting your ear blown off with an el cheapo third-party battery.

Here in the U.S. about the only place to get a nice 4GB micro-SD card is from Verizon which seems to have a "lock" on them at the moment in the brick-n-mortar stores.
Your best bet would be online...Froogle or something. So far I see one listed for US$85.

As for updates....it depends on if you're into that sort of thing, but the latest firmware does add AGPS if you're into using the N95 for satnav using the built-in GPS.

Apps I use DAILY are Headline (offline RSS reader) and the Nokia Podcasting client as well as the built-in VoIP capabilities (Gizmo & Truphone).
Apps I use regularly are Google maps and Gmail (duh, of course!) and Mail for Exchange (testing Exchange 2007 with it, works damn well).
I don't play many games on it, preferring to use my N800 for Star Control II and ScummVM but I do know the Global Race game that's free from Nokia is excellent quality. Another good application to have is Y-Browser (free).

I also have an auto-mount in my car (Dodge SRT-4) from proclipusa.com that is perfect. Unlike their N80i mount, the N95 mount "full-on" option actually does recharge the phone via cigarette lighter plug. Perfect for long trips when using TomTom 6 and a BT GPS receiver (GPSlim240 in my case).
