i have a mac and love my n95 & mac compatability but because i can't use suite i can't update the phones firmware.
any suggestions?

Take it to a Nokia Support Centre. You'll be able to find their locations on Nokia's site!
Or use a friend's, relatives, fellow student's, colleagues or neighbour's PC. I should think there's at least one PC/Windows user amongst those.
If you have an Intel based Mac, you can use Parallels software and dual-boot to Windows and do it on your Mac (you need a Windows license, of course).
Other than that, the previous advise stands: Have your nearest Nokia repair/service center do it for you.
If you don�t have a Intel processor to run Windows use a PC emulator in your MacOS. The most simple method: go to a Cybercafe 😃
