HSDPA on 3 network

you only see the 3.5g icon on v12 firmware otherwise it still says 3G regardless of if its using hsdpa

I thought it was, get it quite a lot on t-mobile, usually whenever there is a 3G signal it turns to 3.5g for me

I have had my N95 since not long after they came out and I have been running it on 3 the minute I got my unlock code from vodafone.

It has had the latest firmware the day it came out and when I went to London to watch the tour de France start I saw 3.5G on my phone alot.
Back home in Bristol I have not yet seen 3.5G show up.

Hehe..., in Sweden, with v12 firmware, YES.

(..some people seem to believe there are only two contries in the world; UK & US... But if it wasn't for Finland or Sweden this site would have close to nothing to report.. Oupps, did I just say that all bugs are of finnish or swedish origin..?) 😉

Hi,

3 don't launch their HSDPA in the UK until the start of September, the only place we've been trialling it so far in the UK is in Glasgow where is been on sporadically over the last few weeks for testing. It will be switched on in stages, firstly anywhere north of Birmigham, then the South from the beginning of next year.

Makes a nice change that the South aren't the first to get something!

I live in West Yorkshire. I have 3.5g signal 😃

I have a Vodafone N95, which I unlocked, changed the product code to the "3" one, and used the NSU to update to the latest "three" V12 firmware. Works a treat!

I dont suppose anyone knows when HSDPA will be enabled for Northern Ireland, or will it be early september like most of england?

Just to add to my previous post, I went to Southern Ireland the weekend just gone. When on the "3 IRE" network over there my N95 was showing the "3.5g" symbol a lot of the time.

Yes that is the case in Southern Ireland, it has excellent coverage, but here in Northern Ireland hsdpa hasn't been turned on as of yet, i hope its on by September, as i will be in my halls by then and will want net access.
