Hi all. I have been using the N95 for a few days now and I must say that I am quite impressed.
I have almost come to live with the battery too. The only thing that I have noticed is that whenever I listen to mp3s (thru headphones) the battery drains really fast.
Just today I had lost 3 bars in the battery symbol within 45minutes!! GPS was off, BT was off, WLAN was off. No other programs were running in the background.
Therefore I want to ask u guys if u know of any mp3 players that work well with the N95. Please let me know since I do use that feature quite often.
Thanks
That does seem odd - you should get a fair few hours of MP3 out of the battery. Maybe it was almost going to drop one bar anyway, and then you used one whole bar and it then just dropped a third... ie. you only really used 1 bar? (not sure I explained that very well!)
I had approx 1hour of Visual Radio (with no net access... don't think any Aussie broadcasters support the full features of that) and about 40mins of MP3 playback with still full bars on the (albeit dodgy) readout, so I don't think the stock MP3 player sucks power like the orig poster implies (more than likely something else?)
Regards
hi,
If your phone is brand new, I found my bat life improved considerably after a week or so of use. Think it takes a few charge/decharge cycles for the bat to reach max capacity.
ut.
Well i tried it again last night and once again the battery was pretty much empty within a few hours. This time I really double checked and made sure that WLAN, GPS, BT and all other programms were turned off.
Other than that I am pretty much satisfied with the battery life.
But the music player draining the battery so fast is very annoying. Thats why I was wondering if anybody else tried another mp3 program on their n95s.
Thanks for your help guys 😊
Another player won't probably make a difference, if they're using the built-in MP3 audio codec.
And if the application comes with its own codec, it is probably even going to be worse, as it'll use more processing power.
The phone was fully charged this morning and I listened to mp3s for an hour and I didnt lose a single bar of battery life ! seems to work now 😊
