I am a complete bluetooth newbie and I just got the N75 about 2 weeks ago. I purchased a Motorola S9 bluetooth stereo headset this morning and I am having some trouble and could use a suggestion.
In short, the problem is it is not working in stereo. All I get is sound on the left side. I understand that during phone conversations it is supposed to only play on one side but it is only playing on one side when using the music player or real player.
My phone is a locked N75 on AT&T if that makes any difference.
Suggestions welcomed,

hiya mate
only n73s with v4 firmware will run stereo bluetooth
press star hash 0000 hash
this will bring up your firmware if it begins with a 3 you need to update
if there isnt any updates youll have to change product code to get v4
this will void your warranty but loads of people have done it 😊
hope that helps mate
i see you have a n75 sorry tgought you was asking for n73
not sure about this model and ad2p
might be worth doing a web search
n73 didnt support it but does now due to software upgrade in the new firmware
maybe there is an upgrade for the n75
Yeah, I had to spend some time reading on HoFo but I figured it out. Apparently it is the Cingular/AT&T branding the removes the A2dp compatibility.
What I have to do is get my phone unlocked, then I need to unbrand it then I can update the software and it will upgrade to a version that supports A2DP.
To be quite honest I just don't have time to deal with it right now so I plan to return the headset to cingular and make a complaint that they would sell me a device they know does not work because they are the ones that made it not work. Then I will get a regular bluetooth headset and at some point in the future when I have more time I will follow through with the unlocking and unbranding.
peace,

you can unbrand the handset without unlocking the handset my friend you could prob have this solved in half hour
use nss to change youre product code to a unbranded n75 iam sure you can find an unbranded product code for your handset here
then run nsu it will probably have a newer uynbranded firmware for your phone
this will remove the branding you are talking about 😊
quite easy really
might void your warranty
you can change product code back though via nss when update is done
its very easy and quite safe
Nokia N73 has to be latest update to even work with s9 and as yet no nokia is capable of working perfectly with them as the get choppy and skippy when used outdoors and walking. indoors fine. anywhere outside, crap. also n95, n76,and non symbian ones too. Nokia beginning to suck at basics?😡
buxz777,
Thanks for the heads up. From the lengthly discussions on HoFo it seemed to indicate that the debranding would only work if the phone is unlocked.
It is really of no consequence to me anymore but good to have in the thread in case anybody finds this in the future while trying to figure out why the stereo bluetooth is not working on their N75.
For me, I ended up trading in the stereo s9 for a mono h9 that I really like for phone calls but the volume is just to low with bletooth for enjoying music in a city as loud as new york. For that reason i got the wired stereo headset converter that can use any headphones with a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack. The volume on the wired headset is actually insanely loud to the point I can shut out the wailing siren of an ambulance while it is right next to me.
Thanks for the help all,

Interesting on the S9 - in the manual, Motorola say it should be kept above waist height to reduce interference. I've occasionally kept the N73 in the arm holster supplied with the S9, and never the slightest bit of breakup.
However, with the S9 in the back pocket, it used to break up regularly.
The S9 went and started playing up yesterday, so I returned it, got an exchange unit.
The new one pairs up straight away (the old one always took two attempts), and seems to be suffering from considerably less interference. manufacturing variances?
