Nokia Maps with FW v12.xxx... — Nokia N95 and N95 8GB

Hi, have recently updated the firmware on my Nokia N95, and have run into the problem of the Nokia Map Loader application unwilling to download maps onto the Memory Card I have.

I have previously used Maps before trying the Nokia Maps application to download the maps. So I have done that step already. It simply pops up a message saying incompatible version or something along those lines.

Firmware of V 12.0.013 for the N95.

The Maps application on the N95 is v3.0 wk23 b01, and I have read elsewhere that this is not the latest version and another version should be used. But I am unsure of the exact proceedure of what should be done. eg, uninstall original maps first? Or simply install over, etc.

Can anyone give me a hand with this one?

Re. N.Maps version on firmware 12.x:
The version of nokia maps is the same on both firmware (11.xx/12.xx). This is the latest (=v3.0 wk23 b01). For a short period of time there were a newer (..or at least beta..) version out for download from smart2go.com but this was shortly after removed from download.

What version of map loader are you using (1.0 or 1.1)?

Map loader is the 1.1 version. Complain's of version incompatibilities.
