N95 went in for a ribbon change and came out with dodgy slider

Right. Bit annoyed at this.

I had this problem here;

And from what I gathered the only thing that needed to be fixed was the ribbon.

Now I got the phone back earlier and they changed the lcd, the slider, and flashed the phone (not sure why they flashed it because it was the same version I had on previously)..

BUT! They gave me one of those dodgy sliders that click when I press the lower right hand side in. I dont like it 😞

Anyone else had this happen to them from a Nokia Service Point?

I think they have took my good slider for themselves! (or that could be the paranoia)..

Did they need to change the slider to change the ribbon?

Go back in. Dont be rude, but be firm. Do not take no for an answer.

If they say no, you simply refuse and say its not good enough.

Hello 😊

Quick update.

I went to the store before. Only to be confronted by some sales assistant with the worst attitude ever. She was the only one in the store not wearing a name tag which was probably a good thing as I would have reported her to head office!

So condescending.. gave me a weird/snotty look and said "so you just read it off the internet did you".. "the engineer would know better" blah blah..
Then she went on about how its only a small thing making me feel guilty about trying to get my phone fixed!
Carphone warehouse is definately not getting any business again from me. The rest of the staff at the Aintree store seemed to be fairly decent in the past but that woman needs to be sacked! (or retrained)..

In the end the engineer came out who was pretty helpful. He said that the display was faulty. And he had to change the whole slider as the lcd was the faulty part, and that Nokia do something with the screws on the handset so he had to smash it out. weird.
In the end I just decided to leave it. Its really annoying me again now though! Arrgh. Has anyone actually argued point blank for them to do it again?
The engineer said everything was fully accredited by Nokia and all that. Looking back I should have just asked him to redo it!!

Are there any other official Nokia repair centres that will do it without making you feel like you are in the wrong other than carphone warehouse in the uk?

I hope their managing director is reading this!😡
