Disable sofkeys in S60 3rd edition

I just purchased a Nokia 6120 - my first Symbian phone.
Wow - what a great phone and O/S!

I am trying to figure out how to disable the shortcut keys (or soft keys) so when pressed nothing happens.

I am often backing out of an application with the right softkey, and when I press it too many times so when I get back to the Active Stanby screen, it starts the application associated with the shortcut key -

Any way to disable the shortcut key?

jq

I don't believe there's a way to do that.

To leave a set of inner menus and return to the home screen, just press the "end call" key

Thanks for the reply Orangepit.

The problem with that solution is that it leaves certain applications running in the background!
