😡 I would like to share my experience about having my n95 repaired,I took it to repair center to fix a blank screen ,they could not repair it so off it went to nokia. After several phone calls and a complaint to nokia they eventually replaced the phone which took over 4 weeks, when I picked up my new phone I then recieved a call from nokia and I told them I was just pleased to get my phone back after all this time,That evening I found the volume control on the phone was faulty, the next day I took the phone back to repair center to send away to nokia to possibly replace it again but I may be without the phone for 2 more weeks, fuming I rang nokia to put in a complaint and I am waiting for them to get back to me with a proper explanation.I will let you know how I get off.Anybody have any similar proplems.
n95 repair
I will let you know how I get off.
Its get on dude, on.
If I were you, Id keep hassling them about the phone. When you get it back, if it has another problem Id ask for a total refund, and no more pissing about.
Did you take it to GPSMidlands by any chance ?

LOLOLOL!
Between the repair shop and Nokia, they managed to keep my N80 for over 6 months last year. I only got it back with reasonable compensation when I started legal action against them.
Still, I bought an N95 anyway so I guess they won in the end.
Hi all,the phone was taken to time to talk Swansea, they have been great but it seems nokia have been messing me about.
This is where I love Germany and their consumer protection laws. If the phone breaks within a certain time period - usually a year - through no fault of the owner, then the owner takes it BACK to the store he/she bought it from and THEY send it in for repair. All one needs to do is keep the purchase receipt, which is easy enough to do: put it in the box the phone came in and store it.
I've done that several times now with various phones (usually RAZRs, cheap crap they are) and get them back fully-repaired within a week or two.
Not sure what the law is in the UK and I know in the US you only get 30 days - if that long - unless you're willing to fork out additional $$$ for an "extended warranty" which may or may not cover the device you're actually buying the warranty for (read: in-store scam).
If you bought your N95 from a shop and it breaks, take it back to the shop.
If they try to pawn the repair off on you and the law is on your side, slam them for it.

I was almost in the same boat as you, but all credit to Nokia UK, who fixed it 2nd time around.
My n82 started powering itself off during calls a few weeks ago, even though the battery was charged and it did the same if connected to a mains charger.
I sent it to the UK freepost repair centre and it came back within a week, (uninsured in a small cardboard box) with the Firmware re-applied, factory settings restored and still THE SAME FAULT!
I sent it back again - same freepost centre - with a copy of the repair note and a new fault report form and it came back 10 days later (by courier) and it seems - touch wood! - to be fine.
Personally, I would recommend using the Freepost service to Nokia's main UK Repair Centre over a local NCC branch any day.
P.S. As Nokia cover the insurance (provided you have proof of postage) then even if your handset goes missing in the post, they would replace it for free.
