Installing SDMemory Card

Although having bought a Z8, I have been impressed with the device, the art of connecting the SDMemory Card to the Z8 is an innovation which escapes me.

Within the box, you are provided with a separate package containing i) a 512Mb memory card (which easily inserts into the side of the Z8), and ii) a Motorola SD Memory Adapter.

Although one side of the 512Mb Card can be inserted into the edge of the SD Memory Card (opposite the end with the electrical contacts), there is no way that the 512Mb Card can be inserted into the Z8.

Can someone offer enlightenment.

Thanks

I'm a bit confused by your question. You first say:

a 512Mb memory card (which easily inserts into the side of the Z8)

And then you say:

there is no way that the 512Mb Card can be inserted into the Z8

So, can you insert it or can't you?

You say it will "easily insert" and then you say "there is no way that the 512Mb Card can be inserted"... maybe I'm a little dim, but that's as clear as muck to me!

As you look at the phone, on the left face there is a grommet you can pull open, into which the 512MB card can be inserted. Only thing you have to be sure of is having the contacts of the card facing UP as you put it in.

I of course still don't know if this is at all useful to you, since I haven't thoroughly clarified if you can get a card into a Z8 or not :con?

If you are asking if the entire SD card adapter will fit into the phone, the quick answer is no. It's there to allow you to place the microSD into any regular old PC card reader, most of which don't have a slot for the newer cards. The adapter makes it backward compatible.

That answers a query addressing 'there is no way that the 512Mb Card SD adapter can be inserted into the Z8', if that's what you meant :con?
