Anyway to make the N95 look at the SIM contacts rather than what is in the phones memory without having to go through various selections every time? ie just selecting 'contacts' takes you to the phones memory rather than the SIM memory. would like to change this?

Just an idea. Why not copy your sim contacts to phone memory.
Contacts > Options > Copy

not possible im afraid, you have to copy them to the phone memory as suggested
